India is the second largest producer of foodstuffs in the world behind China. The increasing demand for processed food, the rising number of super- and hypermarkets as well as the development of new products and increasing hygienic requirements lead to an increasing demand of state-of-the-art machinery. Those developments within the end user branches have an effect on the demand for food processing and packaging machinery, that can not be met exclusively out of India's production. Despite a considerable increase in the supply provided by India's industry for packaging machinery, there is a high demand for foreign machinery featuring state-of-the-art technology. Between 2005 and 2009 the export of food processing and packaging machinery to India doubled and reached a volume of 347 million Euro in 2009.
With 52.5 million Euro worth of supplies in 2009 Germany is one of the most important supplier of food processing and packaging machinery after Italy. The demand for state-of-the-art food processing and packaging machinery from Germany is still high. The German manufacturers of those machinery offers themselves as powerful partners for the expansion of India's industry. Their advanced technology and the variety of their products, which are optimally tailored to the specific customer requirements, strengthen the economic performance of Indian manufacturers. Here, the relations between the Indian and the German industry, which have subsisted for many years, become noticeable. A lot of German companies can look back on a long tradition in the country itself and are presented on the market with agencies, subsidaries or even production facilities.
The German pavilion at International PackTech India 2010 is an excellence possibility to meet the leading manufacturers in food processing and packaging machinery technology!
The German Ministry of Economics (BMWi), the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and VDMA (German Engineering Federation) Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association wish you an agreeable stay and a successful visit to this presentation.
